Colocation specialists win out at coveted industry awards
Host-IT featured prominently at last week's prestigious Data Centre Solutions Awards. The long-established Milton Keynes based colocation and hosting services service provider scooped the hotly contested Managed Services/Colocation Project of the Year award. Additionally, having been shortlisted for two further award categories, Host-It was announced the Runner Up in the Data Centre Hosting/Colocation Innovation of the Year category.
The DCS Awards 2024 winners were recognised on Thursday 23 May at a gala dinner event in London in the presence of over 200 guests from across the data centre industry.
We were voted outright winners in the Managed Services/Colocation Project of the Year category which recognises excellence in migrating client companies' IT systems to a colocation solution for key applications supporting core business operations. In this case, the DCS judges and readers were particularly impressed by the secure and resilient Disaster Recovery environment we delivered on behalf of tmWare Ltd, our Tamworth-based warehouse management and transportation logistics software as a service (SaaS) provider client.
With thousands of pounds of business at stake with every order fulfilment and delivery, tmWare's software is mission critical to the performance of their logistics customers. Host-IT successfully helped migrate tmWare's DR backup systems from their in-house location to the secure and modern hosting and colocation data centre presence we now offer in Birmingham. This is based at a cutting -edge facility owned by our parent company nLighten. The DR system now supports tmWare's main IT stack which we have been supporting from our nLighten Milton Keynes location since 2016.
Andrew Willis, Host-IT's Managing Director, commented: "To win the DCS Managed Services/Colocation Project of the Year Award is a great accolade for our company and the committed and highly talented team who ensure we consistently deliver market leading hosting and colocation services.
"We are especially thrilled to have beaten several major global players and by the powerful message this sends out into the marketplace. Alongside our growing presence within nLighten's expanding portfolio of data centres, it also further assures our customers that they are working with one of the leading, most professionally run colocation providers in the business."
This is echoed by tmWare's Managing Director, Lyndsey Philips: "In the seven years since entrusting tmWare to Host-IT we have enjoyed a highly professional and personalised service as well as an excellent uptime record. Their consistently excellent service and ability to support our current and future needs in a timely manner gives us every confidence as we look to expand our customer base. Equally, in ensuring the high levels of trusted IT delivery we provide to our existing valued customers."
